There’s so much going on in tech and AI. We’re getting to watch a slow motion collision between multiple domains over the last few years. There’s:

• traditional information retrieval
• learned representations and embeddings
• modern language models (bert and friends)
• the large language models for generalized tasks
• all the swe/ops to optimize and support

It’s still early too, in terms of finding innovative and valuable ways to compose these tools. It’s quite a time to be working in this space!
